Ready…Ames…

While it has been a bit since I’ve updated, there is certainly no shortage of things to update you about, so I’ll get to it!

  • First and foremost, I am thrilled to announce that I have joined the faculty at Iowa State University’s Department of Theatre & Dance. In addition to being part of a thriving and socially-active department starting in August, I will be teaching a variety of classes (like Intro to the Performing Arts, Acting I, and Musical Theatre I), and also will get the chance to direct a lovely adaptation of Sense and Sensibility as part of the mainstage season in February 2019.
Fisher Theatre on the ISU campus.
  • My article “Flirting with the ‘Loyal Wife’: Bergman’s Theatrical Affair with Nora” was awarded First Prize in Cinema Scandinavia‘s Ingmar Bergman Writing Competition, held in conjunction with the Bergman100 Celebrations going on around the world this year.
Published now in the June 2018 issue of Cinema Scandinavia.
  • I will be presenting a paper as part of the Theatre and Social Change Debut Panel at the 2018 Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) Conference in Boston in August—as well presenting as part of the Shakespearean Performance Research Group at the 2018 American Society for Theatre Research (ASTR) Conference in San Diego in November.
