One of the major recurrent themes in my life and my work is the notion that growth and comfort usually are not found in the same place. Simply put: when you are growing, you’re more than likely not comfortable; when you’re comfortable, you’re more than likely not growing. At its core, Madagascar—A Musical Adventure explores this idea in meaningful, and very fun ways, as Marty the Zebra and Alex the Lion try to determine which is best for them—comfort in the Central Park Zoo or the thrill of the wilds of Madagascar.
